my father took this video on sept. 9, 2001. he was sitting in the back seat of a cessna 172, with me flying the aircraft and the chap next to me keeping contact with the control towers of teterboro, newark and la guardia airport.

we had pizza later that day in midtown manhattan, and a couple from england sitting next to us had just arrived in new york, their son holding a jetlag nap in the hotel. they were looking forward to lovely days in town.

we (my father and I) flew back on sept. 10 and since then often talked about the two brits. exactly a year later we were in NYC again and, flying back to europe we found an almost deserted JFK airport, with zero queuing up.
