a road with trees in 10 minutes (maya rendering)

this is a scene which i created in about 10 minutes. the street and sidewalk took 8 minutes, the trees 2 minutes. the reason for this is that the trees can be painted. they behave like oilstrokes on a canvas, with the difference that they are 3D strokes on a 3D surface.
