i met richard d. james a.k.a. aphex twin twice. the first interview, in 1994, was lost. it was the only tape i ever lost. richard was in a strange mood, like on a drug. suprisingly, when we met again in may 1995, he remembered details of our interview a year earlier. the 1995 interview took 45 minutes. an 8 minute extract can be found → here and in the → wikipedia. richard was 23 years old and quite famous. we talked about sequencers, synthesizers, midi, DJing, clubbing, and the music label contract. i quite enjoyed the conversation. and i’m glad i found this DAT tape today.
