this is an amazing image. created by the US american company brown, treacy & co. around 1893. amazing because it‘s a painting, done before the era of aviation. the city of st. paul in minnesota, founded only half a century earlier, encountered an enormous growth around 1880, mainly because it’s location where the missouri and mississippi rivers meet. the image is quite small and is available online at the library of congress.
